Recently ,a friend of mine went for an interview for the post of Managing Director in a Multi-National South African company starting their operations in Nigeria .

One of the questions that was deliberated upon during the Interview was;

How do you appreciate a client who has constantly given you business over time?

While both parties agreed that providing value and solutions that meet the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is germane ,there was the need to show appreciation periodically.

My friend was of the opinion that the company can celebrate birthdays of client by providing cakes ,wine etc to spice the day or probably a lunch date to appreciate the client.

What is your opinion ?
