The records from the Nigeria Stock Exchange shows that it is only Afromedia Plc that is the IMC company listed on its exchange under Consumer Services sector .
Afromedia PLC which came into being and became autonomous on the 28th day of October 1959 is one of Nigeria’s leading supplier of Out-of-Home media services to the IMC industry.
Why are other Integrated Marketing Communication Companies in Nigeria not keen on listing considering the benefits?
In addition to the prestige a company gets when their stock is listed on a stock exchange, other advantages for the company include: 1.Being able to raise additional funds through the issuance of more stock.
2.Companies can also offer securities in the acquisition of other companies.
Furthermore ,the economic recession has further crippled the IMC Players in Nigeria due to paucity of funds to run their operations.
These funds are urgently required by the IMC companies to make them;
1.Upscale to best practices and global standards in their operations.
2.Compete effectively within the Industry in Nigeria
3.Acquire relevant contemporary tools to meet clients demands
4.Train their staff locally and abroad to perform optimally
5,Be in a position to attract great talents to constantly be creative and innovative.
6. Have strong bargaining power and remain competitive.
We hope IMC companies in Nigeria will take advantage of listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange to up their game so they do not fizzle out like their predecessors i.e Grant Advertising.
